Shipping FAQ
1.) The most frequently asked question we get is:
Why don't you offer free shipping?
Answer: We have yet to find a shipping company who is willing to ship for free. If you know of one please let us know, we'd love to do business with them. The truth is there is no such thing as free shipping. You are paying for that shipping one way or another. We just prefer to be transparent.

Shipping Rates:
We use a flat shipping rate...what this means is regardless of the number of items order, 1 or 100 the rate is the same. Please note shipping rates are done by product glass, i.e. Jewelry, Papyrus, Glass works
Please be advised in some countries you will be given a choice of rates.
US Shipping Rates
3 Rates:
Standard delivery: Once your order ships allow 5 to 7 business days for delivery.
We have flat shipping rate from Egypt to the US - $18.50.
If you order one item it is $18.50, if you order 100 items it is still $18.50.
Express shipping: 3 business day delivery. Valid for jewelry items only, or for papyrus items only. You cannot combine jewelry, glass and papyrus, this is to due a different inspection process for the product type.
Flat rate of $25.00
The clock starts ticking once your order is shipped.
Blown Glass If your order contains blown glass products the flat shipping rate $28.00
Papyrus $18.50 Please note because papyrus has to clear an inspection prior to leaving Egypt to ensure it is not an antiquity you cannot combine papyrus with any other product. You will have to place a separate order.
General Info:
If you are in a remote area as defined by DHL additional charges may apply, we will contact you if you fall into this rarely encountered issue. If we do not get your approval for the additional shipping charges, the order will be cancelled.
The following days are not considered business days:
Friday in Egypt, this is like Sunday in the US DHL does not pick up. Holidays are not business days.
In the US Saturday and Sunday are not business days, nor other holidays.
Things that will affect the 3 business day delivery that are out of everybody's control and no guarantees are:
Custom's delays - this may happen particularly with papyrus, as each piece is inspected by the antiquities department to ensure the preservation of Egypt's history.
Security issues.
Weather issues.
Strikes, civil unrest.
These are out of our hands and appreciate your patience and understanding should this happen.
We use DHL, we require a signature for delivery. If you redirect your package, or tell them to leave it on the front porch, with the neighbor etc. we are not responsible. DHL will default on their anticipated delivery time to the 5 to 7 day method, this is simply a default, it does NOT mean your express order is delayed. General rule of thumb the DHL website is a day delayed on public updates.

$20.00 flat shipping rate for jewelry, papyrus and oils. You can have any combination of these items at that rate.
$28.00 flat shipping rate for orders containing glass products.

Be advised shipping charges do not include customs/VAT which are imposed by your country. We do not have control over this, we do not benefit from this, it is your responsibility. Please contact your tax authorities for the latest rates.
Australia and New Zealand Shipping Rates
$48.00 flat shipping rate for jewelry, papyrus and oils. You can have any combination of these items at that rate.
$60.00 flat shipping rate for any order containing glass products.
Canada Shipping Rates
$21.50 - Valid for jewelry or papyrus only.
$28.00 - Valid for orders containing glass items.

Asia Pacific Shipping Rates
$21.50 flat shipping rate for jewelry, papyrus and oils. You can have any combination of these items at that rate.

Middle East Shipping Rates
$17.50 - flat shipping rate.
$28.00 - flat shipping rate for any orders containing glass products.

Caribbean Shipping Rates
$35.00 - flat shipping rate for any orders containing glass products.
If you are in a remote area as defined by DHL additional charges may apply, we will contact you if you fall into this rarely encountered issue. If we do not get your approval for the additional shipping charges, the order will be cancelled.

4. Ok, I ordered now what?
Once we receive the order shipping times are as follows:
Note: if using PayPal be advised if your payment is pending we will not start your order until payment is approved.
Jewelry usually will ship within 3 days. Please see the alerts at the top of the page.
Papyrus usually ships within 72 hours, as stated on the papyrus pages, please allow time for the Ministry of Antiquities to inspect.
Glassworks usually ship within 7 days, depending on the order.
Oils usually ship within 48 to 72 hours.
All shipments are sent insured and with delivery confirmation via DHL, you will be given a tracking number
5. Other delivery facts...
There is no delivery on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in the USA or Europe. We do not ship on Fridays as businesses are closed in Egypt. Due to the heightened security measures have been taken throughout the world, there will be times due to these procedures that you will not receive your merchandise within the allocated time. This is beyond our control and our shipper's control - we ask for your patience.
6. I have a military address...
We cannot deliver to a military address.
7. We use DHL. If you redirect your package, or tell them to leave it on the front porch, with the neighbor etc. we are not responsible. Be advised if you redirect the package DHL may charge you additional fees.
